This has never been done and temporary accommodation having been provided in Hosby's Store, an adjacent building, for some of the Officers of the Supreme Court, there is no absolute necessity at the present moment for resuming possession of these chambers, which as stated in Lui M. Hicks Beach's despatch, occupy "sufficient space for the discharge of a large private practice, which is carried on by himself (Mr Sharp) his partners and their private Clerks. The opportunity that will be presented by a vacancy in the appointment should, in my opinion, be availed of for stipulating that these Chambers are to be given up whenever required.
An allowance of $30 a month would, I informed, be sufficient for an office for the performance of the Government work by the Crown Solicitor, though it would not represent anything like the value to the Solicitor of the Chambers now occupied by him.
3. I annex the usual enclosure paper of particulars of the Office.
